A political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof. Ransford Gyampo has insisted a tape circulating in the media that cited his alleged prediction of victory for incumbent John Dramani Mahama is doctored.
He says he remained a referee in the political environment and won’t be involved in predicting outcome of elections especially at a dying minutes to polls.
An audio tape which has widely been circulated in the media as Prof. Ransford Gyampo’s voice predicted a win for President Mahama in the December 7 polls.
The voice heard in the secret audio tape recording which seemed to be an interaction between Gyampo and an unknown person said eventhough he(Gyampo) doesn’t like the NDC they’ll by all means win the elections because the NPP is struggling under a crumbled front to be able to snatch power from the NDC.
“I don’t know where this is coming from. I’m not a pollster and I’ve not done any scientific research to to predict the polls,” Prof. Gyampo said on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Monday.
He described the purported tape as fake and a diversionary tactic by some persons to sway electorates from making informed decisions with some few days to elections.
“If NDC will win elections they don’t need me to say it. I’m surprised we are not talking about the real issues. What are we going to hold somebody accountable to if they win elections,” he questioned.
He however, said the NPP is not crumbled as being alleged in the tape that framed him up.
