The Chief of Akutuase in the Asante Akyem North Constituency, Nana Asare Bediako, has asked Ghanaians to consider the expensive cost of education in the country and vote wisely.
He also asked Ghanaians to look at the huge amount being expended on electricity and medical bills and decide who to vote for in the December 7 elections.
The Chief, who was speaking at a mini rally organized in honour of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, said considering the harsh economic conditions prevailing in the country, one does not need to be told how to vote.
"I don't want to do politics but one thing I want to say is that if you are a Ghanaian and you feel comfortable about the huge cost of electricity, hospital and school fees, then vote for continuation but if you are not then you should know what to do," he said.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, on his part, described the recent claim of bomb attack at the deputy regional minister's residence as a complete hoax, stressing that such intimidations cannot stop residents in the region from protecting the ballots on December 7.
He said the NDC government had better found another way to change the will of the people than to scare them with frivolous rumours of bomb attacks.
In a related development, the chief of Brodekwano, a town in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwame Acheampong, has pledged his total support for the opposition New Patriotic Party because of the hard work of the NPP Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
Nana Kwame Acheampong made the admission last Thursday, November 3, 2016, when the regional chairman visited his palace as part of his ongoing community tour to some constituencies in the region.
The Chief’s total support came after he accused the Deputy Constituency Women's Organizer, Maame Asantewaa, of spreading rumours about him that he was in bed with the ruling party NDC.
Narrating his ordeal, Nana Acheampong said he felt extremely embarrassed when his plea for bags of cement for infrastructural projects at the Bosomtwe District was turned down for reasons that he is a member of the NPP.
According to Nana Acheampong, the cements were for development projects in the district but he was told point blank that he is a member of the NPP.
With this development, he wondered why he would be seen as in bed with the NDC.
"It pained me so much that your deputy women's organizer accused me of supporting the NDC; if anything at all Wontumi is my brother and I cannot support anyone apart from him. It is said that charity begins at home and so why would I deny my own and throw support behind another person," Nana Acheampong lamented.
He therefore stated emphatically that he would support Chairman Wontumi on any day because of the popular mantra 'Adze Pa Wo fie a oye' to wit it is better to support your own than support someone outside.
