Nana Akomea clarifies NPP's position on electronic transmission

The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the procedure which parties agreed on at the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) with regards to the electronic transmission of results is in contrast with what the Electoral Commission presented to the public.

In an interview with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka AM Drive, N.P.P Nana Akomea stated that although all the parties agreed on the electronic transmission of results in 2013, the procedures which the EC presented recently is in contrast with the previous procedure.

He added that the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) sent petitions to the EC to seek clarifications on the electronic transmission of results but to no avail.

He stated that even the Supreme Court has raised issues concerning how the Electoral Commission operates.

Touching on the NDC’s allegations that the NPP is misleading Ghanaians on the electronic transmission of results after their failed campaign on the so-called Togolese register, Nana Akomea stated that the claims are baseless .

According to Nana Akomea, there was no need pursuing the Togolese register since the EC was not ready to go for the register.
