The Electoral Commission of Ghana says it is ready to demonstrate how the Electronic Transmission of results works.
The Electronic Transmission exercise is also to show to all political parties, civil society organizations and all stakeholders how the results would be transmitted to EC’s head office, following which the company with competence and capacity would be selected.
The Public Relations Officer of EC, Mr. Eric Kofi Dzakpasu made the disclosure in an interview with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka FM AM Drive Thursday.
According to him, the EC advertised and chose the companies after which they went through the public procurement process and evaluation.
He reiterated that on the eve of the election, results would be counted and certified by all stakeholders at the polling stations and then collated to the constituencies under the certification of all party agents.
The electoral results would then be transmitted to the national offices together with the collation sheets where projectors would be mounted in open space to show all transmissions to the head office.
In a related development , Mr. Dzakpasu, also indicated that the Electoral Commission will put in place what he described as “continuous voters registration” on 19th and 26th of August where Ghanaians who are 18 years and above can register.
