President Nana Addo Dankawa Akufo-Addo is set
to inaugurate a committee to take charge of Ghana’s birthday.
Ghana will
celebrate 60 years of independence from British colonial rule in March this year
and the committee according to sources will be tasked to make the celebration a
memorable one.
Ghana’s first Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah declared the
Gold Coast an independent country from the British and was later renamed
Ghana.
A decade ago, former president John Agyekum Kufuor, set up a
secretariat to take charge of activities and festivities when Ghana celebrated
its golden jubilee.
