The NPP Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Adwoa Safo says it is wrong for supporters of one political party to attack opponents bet they losers or winners.
The MP who has been re-elected to parliament believes nothing good comes out of these attacks, but only hurts the democracy the country has fought hard to achieve.
Speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Tuesday, Ms Safo said “People have unfortunately jubilated and gotten a bit out of hand and I think that as a country we shouldn’t be moving towards that direction.
“It is unfortunate that we’ve had such incidences after a victory. I don’t think that it augurs well for our people and our nation,” she added.

The declaration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as president-elect has not only brought celebrations but also agitations.
The NDC who did not anticipate a loss is aggrieved while the NPP jubilates. However, it has been reported that some of these NPP supporters have taken things overboard.
On Monday, it was reported that the vigilante group linked to the NPP, Invincible Forces raided the toll booth on the Ashaiman stretch of the Accra-Tema Motorway, claiming that they had information money was being stashed away by the workers there. They returned money they seized after the police intervened.

Adwoa Safo said regardless of the people involved, “wrong is wrong” and the supporters of the NPP must refrain from repeating the things they spoke against in 2012 and 2008 when the NDC won power.
“Ghana needs to take off on a very good note, the international community is looking at us. We have a lot of prestige and image not only in Africa, but the world as a whole, everybody is looking at us.
“We stand tall when it comes to democracy in the whole of Africa so we have a lot at stake, so let’s calm down and jubilate positively,” she stressed.
She said the president-elect will not condone such acts and that he had urged the police to arrest and prosecute anyone identified to be involved in such violent acts.
“As a country, we have to move towards the realization that many will lose and one will only emerge winner and we have to deal with it moving forward. I think we have grown out of it [election violence].”
Second Vice Chair of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Belinda Bulley who contributed to the discussion said it was unfortunate that the NPP supporters have resorted to such violent acts.
“It is really wrong,” she said, adding that the situation has gotten to worrying levels and both the NPP and NDC must be condemned because it is under their reigns that these things have happened.
This development, in her view, does not augur well for our democracy and “We have to do everything possible to make sure that it is stopped.”
She said the police should not wait to be told what to do. “They must act, arrest the people, deal with them,” she emphasized.
