Minority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has
indicated that the incoming Nana Akufo-Addo-led government has set its sights on
an economic path that will spur development.“We are putting this nation
on a new trajectory of real national development that will affect the good
people of this country,” the legislator for Suame constituency told Class FM’s
Paa Kwesi Parker Wilson shortly after the National Executive Committee (NEC)
meeting of the NPP on Thursday, December 14.
The meeting was held at the
party’s headquarters to discuss the list of appointees of the incoming
administration from January 2017.
The flag bearer of the main opposition
party, Nana Akufo-Addo, beat sitting President John Mahama and five other
candidates by securing 53.85 per cent of valid votes to become Ghana’s fifth
president in the Fourth Republic.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu argued that the
economy did not perform well under Mr Mahama, so a lot of changes needed to be
instituted to revamp the economy.
He indicated that the economy was not
in the best of shapes and “needs repositioning, which will depend on a new
policy orientation which the party is committed to”.
