My govt will change the face of Ghana in 18 months – Akufo Addo

The Flagbearer of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo has assured that Ghana will see considerable development within one and a half years of his presidency upon assuming power in January 2017.

According to him, the NPP has a team of tried and tested persons who have excelled in both their public and private lives burning will zeal to turn the country’s economic situation around for the better.

The three-time Flagbearer of the NPP was speaking at the party’s mammoth Northern Regional rally in Tamale on Tuesday to round up their campaign two weeks to the general ellections on December 7.

He lashed out agaisnt the Mahama-led government under whose tenure, he noted Ghana has seen a long period of stand still in the country’s development.

“Within 18 months of the new government of the NPP under my presidency, the face of our country Ghana is going to change. We are going to get out of stagnation and get the country back on the road of progress and prosperity. We can do it, the Ghanaian people have the capacity to change the circumstances of our lives. As the wind of change intensifies and the momentum for change is gathering our President and his party are panicking and beginning to resort to divisive and tribal incitement. He’s saying that he’s the champion of the North, why, are we going to have the North against the South…is that what we want in Ghana? we want one united Ghana where all the people of Ghana wherever they come from will be together as one. We don’t want a nation that tribe will be set against tribe, that is the politics of yesterday.”

Ghana goes to the polls on which has been described as crucial by many political watchers with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) being the front-runners.
