Nana Addo has no cancer, Kidney ailments – personal physician

The personal physician of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Professor Adu-gyamfi has dismissed reports that the politician has been diagnosed of cancer and kidney related diseases.

Prof Adu-Gyamfi speaking on Joy News’ current affairs analysis programme, Newsfile on Saturday said a publication by the African Watch Magazine that his client was suffering from these diseases and hence is unfit to be President is wrong.

Prof.Gyamfi stated categorically that the publication is malicious, unmeritorious, and palpable falsehood as according to him, ‘no man with such damning record medically, could have the strength to crisscross the entire country campaigning vigorously.’

The magazine claimed that the flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, acute kidney disease and an enlarged heart since 2013.

The August 2016 edition of Africa Watch Magazine was headlined "NPP’s Campaign In Jeopardy…Akufo-Addo Has Cancer”

The US-based magazine edited by Steve Mallory claims the presidential candidate of the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo, is suffering from the life threatening diseases.

The magazine in its report claimed the NPP flagbearer was diagnosed of prostate cancer in June 2013, with a high Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) count of 89.9, very much above the 3.72 upper range it should have been, according to British doctors.

The magazine claimed to have seen some medical records and they paint a dark picture of Nana Addo.

But the NPP flagbearer, citing a litany of claims made against him in the past during his ongoing tour of the Upper East region, dismissed the latest allegation, saying "....now they say I have cancer; it will not work!"
