Comm. Director (NPP) , Nana Akomea
National Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana
Akomea says no amount of pressure will force them to release their 2016
manifesto for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to steal.According to him, the party's manifesto is ready and due for launch
somewhere in August, however, the party is reconsidering a postponement
of the launch due to plans by the NDC to steal from their manifesto.
General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketiah recently announced
that the NDC's manifesto is ready and will soon be launched.
The chief scribe of the party at the celebration of the party's 24th
anniversary celebration said, the manifesto is ready and awaiting the
assent of President John Mahama before it can be launched.
But speaking to Kwame Tutu on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the
former legislator said the NDC have not drafted their manifesto yet but
rather waiting for the NPP to launch their's so they can copy and paste.
He stressed, ''we will not be forced to launch our manifesto to allow
the NDC steal it. They've always done that but we will not allow them to
do it this time around.''
The Progressive People's Party (PPP), Independent People's Party and
the United Democratic Party (UDP) are the only political parties that
have launched their manifestos ahead of the general elections.
